Labor Market 4.0 – Conference

With the participation of Vice-Marshal Zbigniew Ostrowski and the President of the Regional Parliament, Elżbieta Piniewska, a conference dedicated to the future of the labor market and career counseling was held at the Bydgoszcz Trade and Exhibition Center.

“Research conducted by the International Monetary Fund last year indicates that artificial intelligence will impact nearly 40% of global employment,” noted Vice-Marshal Zbigniew Ostrowski in his speech. “We must invest not only in tools but, above all, in comprehensive skill development. Tools alone do not drive transformation – it is the change in employee behavior that does. Like any effective work process reorganization, this one will require strategic integration of actions, as success depends both on top-down support and grassroots innovation.”

During the conference, key trends, technologies, and innovations shaping and expected to increasingly shape the labor market in Poland and the European Union were discussed. Solutions in vocational education were also presented, along with the impact of new technologies—such as robotics, artificial intelligence, drones, and 3D printing—on the development of future competencies.

The two-day conference (February 26-27), attended by nearly 300 participants, featured expert lectures, panel discussions, and practical workshops on Industry 4.0, AI, robotics, programming, 3D printing, and unmanned aerial vehicles. The event was primarily aimed at school directors and career counselors, employees of County Labor Offices, representatives of city, county, and municipal offices, as well as representatives of the Ministry of National Education and Regional Coordination Teams.
