Helping to Choose a Profession

Six thousand students from 110 schools in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region will participate in the “Career Direction” project, which aims to help young people choose their future profession. The project, co-funded by the regional program European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze, has a budget of over 5 million PLN. On Tuesday (February 25), Marshal Piotr Całbecki, President of the Regional Parliament Elżbieta Piniewska, and Regional Executive Board Member Marek Wojtkowski met with representatives of local governments, who are project partners.

– “Through this project, we not only help young people choose their future profession, but by training career advisors and educators who will teach future generations of students, we ensure the continuity of this initiative,” emphasized Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

– “All tools that help young people define themselves and find their place in today’s world are extremely important,” said President of the Regional Parliament Elżbieta Piniewska.

The meeting was also attended by the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Education Superintendent, Grażyna Dziedzic.

The partners of the “Direction- Profession” project, in addition to the Regional Labour Office (WUP), include 52 local governments that oversee primary and secondary schools in the region. Until 2027, students will participate in sessions with career advisors, teachers, and educators, utilizing modern tools such as VR goggles to explore their professional aptitudes. Six hundred students will receive individual consultations.

The project will also enhance the skills of 120 career advisors and teachers, who will take part in training and webinars. This will enable them to support future generations of students in pursuing their dream careers.
