We Have Found the Masters of the Orthography

Wojciech Nowakowski from the Youth Assembly of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region performed best in the dictation competition held today (February 21) on the occasion of International Mother Language Day. The event brought together employees of the Marshal’s Office, organizational units of the regional self-government, and other institutions from our region. Marianna Mucha from the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Loan Fund and Monika Barwik from the Department of European Funds Implementation also mastered the language trap-filled challenge with excellence. The event was opened by the President of the Regional Parliament, Elżbieta Piniewska.

The text for this year’s 10th edition of the dictation was prepared by Prof. Małgorzata Gębka-Wolak from the Institute of Linguistics at Nicolaus Copernicus University. As per tradition, the spelling test was accompanied by linguistic lectures. In the first part, Prof. Małgorzata Gębka-Wolak discussed changes in Polish orthography that will take effect on January 1, 2026. In the second part, Dr. Sebastian Żurowski introduced the topic of inclusive communication, emphasizing its importance in public institutions.

Congratulations to all participants!
